Wednesday Wisdom!

We all ask ourselves ''Why I am not productive?" or "I am too busy", even though most people do the same work very effectively.
So, today's blog is about 33 practical ways to manage your time effectively. These tips are practical and will increase your productivity. I will now not dive too much into there explanation, to avoid too much length.

1. Look for opportunities to be productive:

Reading a book in a boring lecture or listening to a podcast when stuck in traffic is what means to look for opportunities to be productive. You cannot give an excuse that I do not have time to read or to listen to something good. Make some time for these important things in life for effective time management.

2. Balance:

It is necessary to maintain balance in life. If you have one thing as your only priority, how will you balance?. Balancing means doing all the necessary things and sacrificing when it is needed. So, if you want to be happy and have successful time management, try balancing things such as health, friends, career, family, etc.

 3. Being organized:

Now most certainly, you will have this question- ''What has being organized to do anything with time management''. Let me clarify your thinking, having an organized room or anything, organizes your mind which will help you to ensure super productivity.

4. Fun when you earn:

One of the best ways to ensure super productivity is when you take a break and enjoy when it is necessary. So, it is really healthy to take a break sometimes if you were working hard before. Do not be hard on yourself if you want to enjoy life and manage time effectively.

5. Afternoon naps

If you are a guy or a girl, who has a habit of waking very early in the morning. It is recommended that you take afternoon naps, that will energize you for the rest of your day. It is better than the consumption of caffeine.

6. Following a routine:

Making a time table for most of your activities will help you a lot in your time management skills. Around 70% of your activities of the day is predictable. So, making a routine like hitting the gym after classes or work and then other activities. Like a daily routine will make all the things go inflow and easy to do.

7. Prioritizing:

In order to manage time effectively, it is really necessary to prioritize your tasks. If there are a lot of tasks to do within a week. Jot all down on a piece of paper with their submission dates and prioritize what to do first.

8. Socializing with people:

Yes, socializing helps you ineffective time management. The reality is that it is really good to talk to people in your break. It will make you feel relaxed, and soon you will get back to work with the same energy.

9. The 5 minutes rule:

Well, 5 minutes rule is a very common method to avoid procrastination and manage time properly. It suggests saying to yourself that you would do this for 5 minutes and then gradually you complete the whole task.

10. Flexibility

Being flexible according to time will ensure that you are able to finish your priorities in this uncertain world where a lot of unexpected things come up. So, be flexible enough to ensure effective time management.

11. Be quality oriented

It is often said that you should focus more on quality than quantity. Study less, but if you study then study with full concentration. Focus more on quality than quantity.

12. A to-do list.

A To-do list for every day will keep you very clear about what to do and what not to do. Make a list of at least 10 things which are really important to you and you have to do tomorrow. It is a very popular method.

13. Understanding the difference between important and urgent:

Some people use this method to manage time, it means to divide the tasks into 4 categories.
1. Important as well as urgent
2. Important but not urgent
3. Urgent but not important
4. Neither urgent nor important

When you will divide your tasks in such a manner, it will automatically be clear to you about when to do what task.

14. No social media

Keep your phone in another room, turn on the airplane mode or turn mobile data off to avoid social media when doing something really important. Later, when you take a break, you can use social media.

15. Delegate some stuff

Is it possible to delegate a task on your to-do list to your friend, co-worker, or your spouse or maybe even your kids?.  It will save you a lot of time if you delegate some tasks to anyone else. Remember that delegate only if it can be, not when you are feeling lazy. I am not promoting laziness.

16. Do not say Yes to everyone

Saying yes to everything will ensure that you are not able to give time to your priorities. It is better if you think according to your priorities not according to the other person's point of view always. However, exceptions are always there.

17.  Value your time

It is pretty obvious that if you do not value your time, you will lose the count of your time. Then you will not control your time, time will control you. It is very important to value your time for better time management.

18. Exercise regularly:

How can I forget this one?. Physical fitness → Mental Fitness → Better Productivity → Better Time Management, doing a jog for 30 minutes a day will suffice. Just do it, push yourself and then it will all be easy later

19. No unwanted stress and overthinking:

You have so much work, why to be stressed about the outcome. "Stop worrying, start doing, overthinking wastes our lot of time, it is very common, but try to avoid it to save your time. Keep yourself as much as busy as possible.

20. Talk to elders:

Talking to elders regarding managing time in college, work-life will lead to clarity in your mind and help you save a lot of time as there are chances that they have already experienced those issues. So, talk to your parents, elder brother or someone else

21. Pomodoro Technique

Pomodoro technique is a time management technique that encourages people to focus for 25 minutes and then take a 5 minutes break. It advises you to do 3-4 of these rounds and to keep increasing the time of focus and break with time. This is done to keep a balance between quality and quantity.

22. Positive Thoughts:

The way you feel is how you act, so act positively and focus on your tasks. So, keep your mind with positive thoughts, do not be hard on yourself that you cannot do it and all. Be positive.

23. Sleep Journal:

It is recommended to maintain a sleep journal to organize your mind. As said earlier, a calm mind will do things much better in terms of quality and quantity than a stressed mind.

24. Meditate:

Meditation will increase your focus much more and will also give you various benefits. So, wake up every morning and meditate for 5 minutes. You will see the benefits throughout the day.

25. Stay hydrated:

To maintain the level of energy, it is good to stay hydrated always. Keep a water bottle with you, drink water frequently and it is also good for your health.

26. Stay motivated

Watch some inspirational videos, listen to podcasts or read a book may be to feed your mind with motivation and positive thoughts. So, next time you are lacking some motivation. Use this strategy.

27. Good quality sleep
A good quality will keep you energized throughout the day and will help you focus even better. So, set a timer for your sleep and go to bed on time. It will increase your level of thinking and reduce stress.

28. Early to bed, early to rise

Following the rule early to bed, early to rise will help you even more. It will save you a lot of time and ultimately leading to better time management.

29. The right temperature

It is better to focus on a normal temperature rather than when it is too hot or too cold. Set the right temperature for you in your work environment for higher productivity.

30. Smile, smile and smile some more:

It is said that smiling makes you a lot happier and you handle stress in a good way. So, smile and talk to people to feel good from inside.

31. Focussing on MIT's

It is good to focus more on the most important tasks (MIT) as the first thing in the morning. It will increase your motivation as other tasks seems a lot easier then.

32. Go for more:

Who knows what would happen tomorrow?.
If you have time left with you, do the full task rather than procrastinating it to tomorrow. Some time left, do some more tasks.

33. The present moment:

One of the best quality of people with effective time management is that they live and according to the need for the present moment. What I am trying to say is that act according to the present moment. As Sandeep Maheshwari says, ''Do what is right to do at that moment, not what you want to do".
